A long-overdue retrospective for a groundbreaking photographer

Seattle Art Museum’s Imogen Cunningham (winter 2022) exposed the profound influence and creativity of an artist decades before her time. This retrospective spanned Cunningham’s half-century-long career, from dreamy nature shoots in Washington to celebrity portraits to Brooklyn street photography. For the identity and marketing campaign, I chose dynamic type and fresh, contrasting colors to set off the dramatic, high-contrast forms seen throughout Cunningham’s work.
