A pivotal moment for an artist in 1885—and a museum in 2021

In summer 2021, Monet at Étretat opened to much excitement, a small and dazzling show highlighting a formative time in the artist’s career. The show became a much-needed success for Seattle Art Museum and the first special exhibition to run its course since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Like the paintings themselves, the campaign I designed reflects Monet’s seaside setting of Étretat, with classical but fresh colors and a stacked title lockup reminiscent of ships in harbor.
